Talau, seating island for SMV
Talau is a family of seating islands that can be easily integrated into any open space and allows maximum flexibility in the arrangement. The walking route e.g. pathfinding in between is pleasant and informal. Firmly connected to the ground or differently arranged every day with the freedom of individual needs-based use, everything is possible. And all this with a tidy appearance at the same time, because due to the design language it always “fits” anew, which makes the use pleasant.
The arrangement options are manifold, because the large “main island” with backrest can be surrounded by smaller islands or act as a solitaire in the room. Or the large element is dispensed with, while the other elements are just as loosely distributed in the room – individually or in groups.
Agile working spaces, hospitality, libraries or even the demanding healthcare sector (which was focussed by it’s design) can benefit from in typical areas such as foyers, lounges and waiting areas – from new buildings to existing buildings, both allow sustainable use due to their repairability and adaptation for the future. In addition, the upholstered Bench Kahuna works perfectly in symbiosys, orienting itself with its clear lines along walls or also structuring the roomlayout.
Talau, as well as Kahuna, takes into account both demanding fire protection, so that planners and operators can relax, as well as hygiene, which means safety and comfort for operation and maintenance in equal measure.
The design of the sculptural seating island world is inspired by the world of the South Sea atolls and tributes to Mount Talau. Pure Nature and Healing Environments at it’s best.
